Argyripnus Boreopacificus (Argyripnus boreopacificus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Sternoptychidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 8.2 cm. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11 - 12; Anal soft rays: 23 - 25. This species is distinguished by the following characters: D11-12; A 13-15 + 9-10 = 23-25 rays; pectoral-fin rays 18-19; photophores IC 73-76 and VAV + AC 56-60 photophores; gill rakers on first branchial arch, including two angular rakers 29-30; origin of ? base under thirrd or fourth ray D; moderately deep body (3.8-4.2 times in SL); anus opened at the border between middle and posterior thirds of ventroanal distance; photophores on trunk are densely located in groups, smoothly arcuate curved row of photophores above anterior part of A and posteriorr section of ?? originated near end A ,Cross section: compressed.
