Angelfish Tank

Freshwater angelfish need height, not just gallons. Their tall, laterally compressed bodies demand a tank at least 18 inches deep. They are moderately aggressive cichlids - especially when spawning - and best kept as bonded pairs or in groups of 6+. Community-safe with medium-large tetras and non-nipping species; incompatible with fin-nippers (tiger barbs) or fish small enough to be eaten (neon tetras).

Temperature: 76-82 F. pH: 6.5-7.5. GH: 3-8 dGH.

6+ angelfish (or bonded pair). Compatible: rummy-nose tetras, black skirt tetras, corydoras, bristlenose plecos, kuhli loaches. Avoid: neon tetras (too small), tiger barbs (fin nippers).
