📖 Overview
Stripe eel (Aprognathodon platyventris) is a ray-finned fish of the family Ophichthidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 46 cm. It occurs at depths between 0 and 17 metres. With a trophic level of 3.7, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Vertebrae: 148 - 152. Absence of raised platform between tubular anterior nostrils and median crease of the snout's underside. No teeth on anterior intermaxillary and vomerine. Anal fin present .: eel-like.
