🐟 Physical Description

Anal soft rays: 14 - 16; Vertebrae: 40 - 41. Can be diagnosed by the combination of the following characters: eye large, the orbit width exceeding both the snout length and the interorbital width; scaled ventral keel behind the pelvic fins along the abdomen to the anus, commonly 43-47 lateral line scales to posterior margin of hypurals; 2.5-4.2 pharyngeal teeth; dorsal fin usually with 8½ branched rays; anal fin with 10-12½ branched rays; 40-41 total vertebrae, and the caudal vertebral region equal or longer then the abdominal with region, vertebral formulae 20+20 or 20+21 . : fusiform / normal.
