📖 Overview
Akysis Maculipinnis (Akysis maculipinnis), first described by Fowler, 1934 is a tiny fish in the family Akysidae (order Siluriformes). Adults typically reach 3.10 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Data Deficient.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 5 - 6; Anal soft rays: 8 - 10; Vertebrae: 31 - 32. Distinguished from all its congeners by the following combination of characters: head length 22.0-28.6% SL; depth of caudal peduncle 8.8-10.7% SL; length of anal-fin base 15.2-19.1% SL; eye diameter 12-16% HL; length of nasal barbel 57-92% HL; 3-4 serrae on the posterior edge of the pectoral spine; and caudal fin emarginate .: elongated.
