Akarotaxis Nudiceps (Akarotaxis nudiceps) is a ray-finned fish of the family Bathydraconidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 13.7 cm. It occurs at depths between 103 and 1191 metres. With a trophic level of 3.5, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 31 - 33; Anal soft rays: 27 - 28. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: body covered with ctenoid scales; two lateral lines with about 10 tubular scales; posterodorsal end of the opercle with a small hook; branchiostegal rays 6; conical teeth small; gill rakers well-developed .Cross section: compressed.
