📖 Overview
ハネダホタルジャコ (Acropoma hanedai), first described by Matsubara, 1953 is a small fish in the family Acropomatidae (order Acropomatiformes). Adults typically reach 13.50 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 50 to 400 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. The species is important as a food fish. As a member of the Acropomatidae, it shares life-history and morphological traits with its relatives in the group.

Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7. Anus nearer the insertion of anal fin than that of pelvic fin. Two very long light organs run from the isthmus to slightly beyond the origin of the anal fin and joined with the opposite organ immediately in front of the anal fin.: fusiform / normal; Cross section: compressed.
